A Scenario
On her last visit to THE CAFÉ, Sarah scanned the QR code for the COFFEE TO GO app with her iPhone. Within a minute the app was installed and Sarah had purchased $25 of coffee credit. Before leaving for work the next day, Sarah tapped on the COFFEE TO GO icon and ordered a small double shot, skinny flat white to be picked up in 20 minutes. A few seconds later at THE CAFÉ, the order slots into the queue on the barista’s iPad. Eighteen minutes later the iPad warns the barista that Sarah’s order is due in 2 minutes. The barista taps the “Processing” button and starts making the coffee.
Sarah arrives at THE CAFÉ and picks up her coffee. No stopping to pay, no lining up in queues and no waiting. The barista taps the PICKED-UP button and the order disappears. Transaction complete with no time wasted taking an order or payment. Staff have more time for other duties.
Revenue is increased from tech savvy customers who value their time and want the convenience of pre-ordering coffee from an app. There is even an opportunity to provide customers with special offers and loyalty coffee credit.
